About Us

Meaningful Milestones is a premier daycare and preschool in Chicago, IL. Since 2018, our mission has been to ensure each child reaches milestones. Our motto is "Each One, Reach One"! We can do this through a research-based curriculum, developmentally appropriate practices, and parental involvement. We offer care from 6 weeks to 6 years, gardening, art, music, cultural days, a Spanish immersion program, and select parents' night out programs. We have been committed to helping children reach their fullest potential and create meaningful and lasting relationships. We're excited to continue our partnership with the greater Chicago area. Our Story

We’re Meaningful Milestones, a preschool and daycare center in the Chicago, IL area since 2018! Our owner, Jimia Walker, began her career after graduating from college with a degree in elementary education. When she had started teaching 7th grade, she was encountered with a student who did not know how to read. Since then, she knew her mission was to teach early childhood education to help prevent these situations.

At Meaningful Milestones, Jimia started out as a director of the daycare working for the two previous owners and took over when they decided to shut down the business. This was a challenging transition for Jimia and her staff, but she took it upon herself to restore the daycare center. After taking an entrepreneur class and working with the owner of the building, she was able to rebrand the business. Ever since, our passion and persistence to help children here at Meaningful Milestones has positively impacted hundreds of families!

At Meaningful Milestones, all of our teachers are licensed with CDAs (Childhood Development Certifications) in preschool, toddler, and infant care and education. Our team of professionals is dedicated to you and your children. Jimia oversees and works with the teachers on a daily basis. She is always around to ensure your needs are taken care of. We want to make sure that your children have the best experience during their time here!

Our goal is to see your kids succeed. We guarantee that your children will grow and progress with us. We understand that not all children learn things in the same manner, which is why we’ll work closely with them to figure out their individual learning preferences. We’re here to make a difference in the world of education!

We specialize in offering a research based curriculum, developmentally appropriate practices, and parents as teachers. Some of our programs include 6 weeks - 6 years, art, music, gardening, yoga, and Spanish. We provide organic lunches to our students as well. We also offer a parent date night to welcome the parents to what we do here. We want to make sure parents are educated just as much as our students are!

He started with Ms Maya in the baby room, progressed to Ms V as he started moving and grooving and then over now to Ms Korina as his development continues! They have a great staff, from the teachers to the assistants and all the ancillary staff that makes the place run smoothly. We need an early drop off and Ms Kay is always a friendly face at 6:30 am. Our son really enjoys his days at MM.

The teachers genuinely care and consistently update the ProCare App with photos, so I always know what's happening in my little one's day. One of the standout features is their "Date Night," where they extend their hours, allowing parents to enjoy time with their significant other without needing a babysitter. It's an amazing service that I've never seen offered by any other daycare! Their summer camp was fantastic, with exciting field trips to Legoland and the Shedd Aquarium, which my daughters adored. We know he is happy there. The teachers are all wonderful and warm. The activities are well thought out and helpful with development. They also offer monthly date nights where you can drop the kids off for a few hours, which is a huge perk not offered at other places.
